Finally, an intuitive handling editor that actually works. JG Handling has an advanced real-time editor, a simplified editor for overhauling a vehicle’s handling in seconds, visual flags editing, telemetry, profiles and much much more. This project has been in the works for over a year; originally a research project that resulted in the highly popular JG Mechanic. We found the tooling that we created so useful internally, that we decided to polish it up, add a bunch of extra features and release it to everyone.

JG Handling is standalone and doesn’t require a framework to run, but if you would like to use the job locking functionality, you will need either QBCore, Qbox or ESX Legacy (1.3 or newer).

⏱️ Real-time Editing, That Actually Works

We have spent a significant amount of time research and testing many of GTA V’s underlying handling values. In many cases, we run additional code to ensure that real-time previews match the eventual exported handling. If it isn’t possible to preview a value in real-time, we let you know so you aren’t left guessing.

❤️ Guided Editing

Understanding GTA V’s handling values is complicated; but JG Handling has been designed to help you learn. Impactful or recommended values are highlighted as ‘Useful’ so you know where to focus your editing; and the vast majority of the values have documentation outlining what the values does, it’s recommended values or other useful information. Instead of having to spend half of your time doing research while trying to adjust a vehicle, JG Handling proactively helps you during the process.

😊 Simplified Editor

Completely new to handling files? No problem! JG Handling includes dozens of presets, intuitively organised into familiar real-world vehicle metrics—such as gearbox, acceleration, suspension, wheel traction & downforce. Fixing an unrealistic feeling or broken vehicle can be done in seconds; plus you can see exactly what underlying handling values have been changed and what they mean. This is a best way to start learning how handling files work.

📊 Advanced Telemetry

View key metrics as you test your handling changes, such as speed, gear, top measured speed, key timings (such as 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile) & an acceleration graph. Your previous test will also be compared to your current test, so you can see how a handling value has changed the performance of the vehicle. The telemetry tool can also be used standalone; outside of the context of previewing handling & can be job locked.

🚩 Visual Flags Editing

Unlock dozens more vehicle handling options through flags. Many GTA V vehicles have unique properties hidden within their flags, and with JG Handling you can now adjust these for any vehicles, even addons. Plus with our unique in-game visual editor, you can see exactly what each flag does (if known) and when you’re done you can preview the changes in real time or export the hex value.

💾 Save & Share Profiles

If you are working on a vehicle’s handling but it’s still a work in progress that you want to save for later, or you are looking to share your work with a friend, we have ‘Profiles’. Simply save your profile with a name, and everyone with access to the editor can search for the profile, see who created it and for what vehicle and then use it.

✅ Applying In-Game & Exporting

Once you’re done, it’s time to apply it to the vehicle. You can either export your work as a handling.meta XML file so it can be applied to that vehicle model by default, or you can simply apply it in game to use it right away. Did you create that handling profile especially for a certain vehicle? No problem—you can persist that handling profile to the database, so whenever that vehicle is spawned in again such as from a garage, it will automatically re-apply.

Built by the team behind JG Mechanic, this tool seamlessly integrates and we’ve done extensive testing to ensure there are no conflicts. When editing a vehicle that has had handling adjusted by JG Mechanic, you will be presented with 3 options of how the tool should handle the data, so there are no surprises. You can even use the tool to help generate the config files for custom tuning parts!
